SubWallet is proud to introduce dotinsights, a research-focused initiative about the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem made by SubWallet. In this first stage, dotinsights will launch two initial products, Polkadot Deep Dive Report series and Polkadot & Kusama Ecosystem Map. Proudly supported by Parity Technologies, the Ecosystem Map is the first comprehensive and interactive one of its kind for the Polkadot & Kusama Ecosystem.
The Polkadot Dilemma
Polkadot & Kusama ecosystem is among the most advanced in terms of technology, yet the fragmented nature means that a panoramic view of the whole ecosystem all from layer-0 through to layer-2 is so difficult to generate. This means that more often than not, the community only gets to see a fraction of the ecosystem.
Insufficient information is discouraging: it poses risks for Polkadot & Kusama to lose its position and value in the eyes of all parties, including investors, developers, holders and retail users. Sufficient and correct information, by contrast, attracts both users and developers alike. On the one hand, seeing the dynamics of the whole diverse ecosystem will stimulate and inspire new users to participate and existing users to be more engaged. On the other hand, developers can understand the detailed state of Polkadot & Kusama and discover opportunities to build for the future. A research-driven information hub, therefore, is crucial to the growth of the Polkadot & Kusama ecosystem.
The dotinsights Solution
Understanding this pain point, SubWallet research team released Polkadot Deep Dive Report for H1 2022, the first Polkadot comprehensive quarterly report, with a view to providing a panoramic view of and giving detailed insights into the states of both Polkadot and Kusama. The report immediately received warm welcomes from communities both inside and outside the ecosystem. Overall, 3.3K+ views in all 4 language versions were recorded, whereas the launching campaign of the report attracted 500K+ Twitter impressions with 1K+ retweets and quote tweets. Other side activities in the campaign also concluded with impressive numbers: among almost 800 people who tuned in to the Polkadot Deep Dive Twitter Space, close to 300 listened live, and among 200+ entries submitted for the Serpenator NFT challenge, 70 hunters won their customized NFTs.
Successful as the first report might be, we realize that a report series alone is not enough. The Polkadot & Kusama ecosystem needs more research-backed products that capture and deliver the ecosystem in its vast expanse and deep details to end-users and potential builders. As a result, SubWallet officially launches our sub-brand dotinsights that aims to become the research-focused and up-to-date information hub of the Polkadot & Kusama ecosystem with the mission of making the process of onboarding new users and builders to the ecosystem easier.

Along with the Polkadot Deep Dive Report for Q3 2022, we will also introduce the Polkadot & Kusama Ecosystem Map, the first comprehensive and interactive map for the Polkadot & Kusama ecosystem featuring 500+ projects spanning 25 categories. This map serves three main purposes: first, to offer an overview of the whole ecosystem, allowing users to explore and keep updates about all projects; second, to motivate two-way interactions between projects and users through voting mechanism; and third, to support marketing and branding for all projects to communities both inside and outside of the ecosystem.
To encourage interaction with the Ecosystem Map, during the launching period from November 15 to 30, we will run a campaign called “Most Loved Projects” in coordination with top projects including Moonbeam Network, Astar Network, Bit.Country & Metaverse.Network, RMRK, Phala Network, Bifrost & Moonwell. Throughout the campaign time, every address that initiates votes via the ultimate Polkadot wallet SubWallet on dotinsights website will be eligible for a free NFT.
In the upcoming months, we will continue to publish Polkadot Deep Dive reports on a quarterly basis, release feature updates on the Ecosystem Map, and introduce new products. This aligns with SubWallet’s product strategy at this stage, which is to constantly improve UI/UX and deliver the best user experience in order to realize the mission of pulling crypto users closer to the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem and opening the Web3 universe.
